At the Fifth Station of the Cross

I am asked to “accept in particular

the death that is destined for me”

Which I must keep myself from guessing

 Which I cannot refuse.

At the first Station of the Cross

I am asked to say to Jesus

“I love you more than I love myself”

 Which I long to believe

And which is already a dying.
